Ruby (Manik / Manikya) is the gemstone of the Sun (Surya), linked with confidence, authority, leadership and government.
It is the traditional Rashi Ratan for Leo (Singh).
Who traditionally wears ruby?
- Leo Moon sign or ascendant
- Aries, Cancer, Scorpio and Sagittarius ascendants in many charts
- People in leadership, politics or government roles, when the Sun is favourable
African vs Thailand ruby
- African rubies (for example from Mozambique) are natural stones known for vivid red colour; we list them as natural and lab certified.
- Thailand-origin rubies are the affordable choice; we describe them as Thailand origin with a certificate. Colour terms such as “Burma touch” or “Mozambique touch” describe the shade.
